Obstructed balcony cabins are a great option for people who usually stay in inside cabins or ocean view cabins. I particularly want a verandah stateroom - in that category my choices are far forward on the vista deck, or midship with obstructed views on the continental deck - or an aft room on the same deck. The view out straight is usually fine except for an occasional piece of the equipment supporting the lifeboats but that only blocks a small part of the view.
